James's Baby Blessing

My baby boy
I love having family around. All of my family. All of my In-laws. Everybody. And what better time is there to get together than a baby blessing? We had all of the Court side attend. The Forsyth side was a little sparse, but all those that couldn't make it had a good reason(a little issue about driving distances). I am told that is what happens when families grow up and make their own families. We were so blessed to have Great Grandma and Grandpa Forsyth and Great Grandma Paxman come out too.
James w/ Great Grandma and Grandpa Forsyth
James has such a wonderful heritage. These Great Grandparents are incredible examples of faith and dedication.

And these grandparents have done a wonderful job of teaching James' parents to follow in the ways of the Lord.

Hopefully his parents will remember all that the have been taught and follow the example of their parents and grandparents, so that James and his big sisters will also learn to follow the ways of the Lord.

My Boy

I was just playing around with pictures and decided to put together a little collage for all you too enjoy.
James, the first 7 weeks
I know every mom says that they can't believe how fast their baby is growing, but it is so true. I can really see it as I have been looking through all the pictures from the past 7 weeks....is that really all it's been? It kinda seems like we've just always had this handsome baby boy, and pregnancy seems so long ago....and yet it all just seems like yesterday.

My Birthday Present from Kathryn

This could possibly be the best birthday present ever! She wrote it all by herself(words and tune). I sure love this big girl!

My "Boyfriend" is famous.

My husband calls me from work yesterday to tell me that he has a present for me. That's it. That's all he has to say. But the he adds something about me over thinking it when he says good bye. So then I knew that it was going to be something completely off the wall.

This is what I will be enjoying my cold drinks out of this summer.
Front: WWE Summer SlamBack: You can't C me
For those of you who may not be familiar with the WWE (I only am because of my darling husband...we watch WWE Raw together every Monday night), John Cena is the WWE superstar featured on this Slurpee cup, complete with a John Cena Slurpee straw. Right now he is WWE's ultimate good guy. He(or his character) is loyal and dedicated. He doesn't wrestle for the money, he wrestles for the people and because he loves it. He stands up for all that is good and right in the WWE (what exactly that is is up for debate). But you can not deny that he has a personality that draws in a crowd....and that body isn't too bad either...if you like that kinda thing. I once made the mistake of making the comment that I thought John Cena was good looking, as far as WWE wrestlers go. Since that day, my husband has referred to him as my "Boyfriend".

John Cena
John Cena
He isn't overly huge like this guy. This is an old picture, he has even more tattoos all over his arms and back...ick.

Batista
Batista
He isn't all tattooed like this guy. Although his face is fairly good looking...the tattoos really kill it for me and they are all over his back too.
Randy Orton
Randy Orton
He isn't a giant and freakish looking like this guy. This picture is actually kind to this guy, on TV he looks...freakish.
The Great Khali
The Great Khali
He isn't pasty white like this guy. Again, I think this picture is kind...he is much whiter on TV not to mention he(his character) is completely obnoxious.
Sheamus

I could go on and on with other examples of not so good looking WWE superstars...but I think you get the idea and probably have had your fill of men in tights.

Departing from the natural order of things

When cleaning the kitchen it seams logical to first clear the table, actually I usually first sweep the floor because I don't like walking on all the crumbs and stuff that has found its way onto the floor...again. Then to unload and load the dishwasher. Moving on to cleaning the counters and stove. Once that is done you may wash any dishes that did not go into the dishwasher for one reason or another. And then last of all, at least according to my usual logic, the floor will get mopped.
BUT...
Lately I usually get through the loading of the dishwasher and sometimes cleaning off the counters and the stove before my darling James seems to need my attention. As a result, my floor has been in need of a "real" mop for a long time. I say "real" mop because Kathryn has been a doll and mopped the floor for me a few times since James has been born, but that kind of mopping only makes the floor look OK for a day or two.
So tonight, I decided that I was sick of my sticky, dingy floor. I had had enough. It was time to depart from my logic. Tonight, I swept the floor, moved the chairs into the living room, stacked what ever needed moving on the table or the counters. Filled my mop bucket and preceded to mop the floor. My floor is now sparkling clean. However if you are planning to come to my house for a visit before tomorrow afternoon, when you come in the back door, just keep your head down and admire my nice clean floor. Don't look up, don't look around at my messy counters full of dishes that need loaded into the dishwasher and whatever else is piled there. No, just admire my non sticky, non dingy floor.

yummy new recipes

I know I have mentioned this site before, but seriously I love ALLrecipes.com!
Check out these four delicious recipes that I have recently tried.

Simple Time Pork Chops

"This great-tasting, boneless pork chop recipe is quick and easy to
cook."

I like this because it was as it states, Simple. It also used very basic ingredients that most people would just have on hand and everybody loved it, which is always a good thing.

Lemon Cream Pasta
with Chicken

"This
deliciously different dish incorporates a classic combination of
flavors: lemon, chicken, and garlic. A nice change of pace from the
usual pasta fare."

I made with with low fat sour cream instead of the heavy cream it calls for to make it low in fat. It is very lemony and very delicious.Grilled Mojo Chicken Salad With Asparagus and

Oranges

WEEKEND columnist Pam Anderson

"The flavoring mixture, which accounts for most
of the ingredients, is easy to assemble and, as a bonus, serves as both
meat marinade and salad dressing. Simply siphon off some of the mixture
as a marinade. Whisk extra oil into the rest for a first-rate dressing."
This is my favoritest new recipe. IT was SO good! and if you don't like Asparagus you could simply leave it out and just enjoy a yummy salad with chicken.

Pepperoni Penne

"Pepperoni with penne pasta.
Pepperoni spices up this entree."

This was a huge hit with all of the family. As I was making it I thought that it looked like something you would buy at East Side Mario's or some other fabulous pasta restaurant..and it tasted like it too!

And here are three recipes that I am looking forward to trying.

Green Bean and Feta Salad

"A tasty salad using fresh green beans and feta cheese in a tangy
dressing."
When my green beans are ready in my garden this is the first thing that I am going to make with them.

Canada Day Nanaimo Bar Cheesecake

"The taste of a Nanaimo bar in a cheesecake! Can't get any better than
this. Make in the jelly roll pan for serving a larger crowd. Result is
thinner but still as tasty. (You will need to adjust baking time if you
use the bigger pan.)"
Seriously doesn't this sound sinful?

Brie Pecan Rollups with Raspberry Sauce

"Very rich and delightful."
My raspberry canes aren't doing so great this year, but I am hoping that I get enough at some point to be able to test this recipe out.

If you haven't checked out ALLrecipes.com yet, you really should you will have millions of wonderful new ideas and you will never be able to complain about boring meals again.

A post

It's been so long, a month to be exact, since I posted anything. It isn't that there hasn't been anything going on, for my June calendar was full of this and that. Mostly however my mind has been predominately occupied with one particular issue that I don't feel is appropriate to blog about. I think it over and over and over and then I look at it from another angle and think it over and over and over. But no matter how I look at it, it is still there and not likely to go away any time soon. So there it is and we will deal with it.

But on to other exciting things, Summer is finally here! I am looking forward to all kinds of fun with the kids. We had a very enjoyable day with family yesterday for Canada day. It was full of fun for the kids and sufficient relaxing for me. I don't have any pictures to share because Daniel had our camera with him(he climbed Turtle mountain aka Fankslide). My dad and brothers both had their cameras and I just planned on getting pics from them. The fireworks in Lethbridge were a great end to the day. And even better my kids all slept in this morning. Kathryn and Tansley slept until 10am and Kymberly slept until 11am. James was up at 8, but we just cuddled in my bed after I fed him and he went back to sleep.

So far July has been perfect...how long do you think that will last?
