Yesterday evening a friend of mine calls me up and asks if I would like to take her place at her massage appointment today. She'll find someone to watch my kids and then I can go in her place because she doesn't feel like coming into town, her treat. I agree....who wouldn't? So all morning I look forward with anticipation. The arranged babysitter arrives, and I leave, without so much as a peep from the youngest, very impressive. I arrive at my appointment and was treated to a very relaxing massage treatment. That was the quickest hour of my life. I really need to do that more often. Especially toting around a not so little 16 month old(if only she'd take to this walking thing), I really find that my neck and shoulders are quite tense. I could live with adding this into my regular health maintenance. I think I should talk my husband into it. Not just for me, but I think that he could really benefit from some massage therapy as well. My new quest. I then arrive home to find that all my dishes had been done, the babysitter said it was a little treat for me. WOW! Two treats in one day! I've been spoiled. I like it. Lets do it again soon :)

Garbage
So I am taking the garbage out and suddenly the bottom comes out of the bag and I have stinky disgusting garbage all over the threshold of our back door. GROSS. So I get some latex gloves from under the sink(thank goodness for Daniels clean up project way back when in Saskatoon). I gag as I pick up the rotten garbage. I split it between two garbage bags to be sure that it doesn't happen again. This time I get both bags out side, just off the step. I decide to go get the little bit of garbage that is down stairs and under the sink, after all there is plenty of room in both garbage bags. As I pick up the garbage bags, the bottom comes out of one of them once again spilling the same rotten, stinky disgusting garbage all over. Double GROSS. I think it was worse the second time. Double bagged it this time. I don't want to have to pick it up again. I do finally get it successfully to the other side of the road. and I didn't ever actually throw up. That alone I am thankful for.

Remembering
My cousin posted this on her blog. It is a letter that was sent to my Great Grandparents when their son(my dad's father's brother) could not be located after he did not return from his last bombing mission over Germany.
I couldn't even imagine what it would be like to wait for almost a year, not knowing what had happened to your child, only then to recieve a letter confirming your worst nightmares. To all those who have experienced this, in years past or in days not to distant, all I can say is, may our All Loving Creator, our Saviour bless you and your family for your formidable sacrifice, and comfort you in your pain and suffering. Thank you for giving all that you had to give, so that all of us now enjoy freedom, peace and imense comfort.

Halloween
Here are my totally cute Halloween kids. They had so much fun carving pumpkins and dressing up. Kathryn put together her costume all on her own from stuff that we had in our tickle trunk and she insisted that her face needed to be painted green. She did a great job. Tansley went through a total of 4 costumes before it was time to go trick or treating. I took her picture in this lady bug, but soon after she had to go to the bathroom and didn't quite make it, so she ended up going trick or treating as a hairy monkey. I don't have a picture uploaded yet, but I will get it soon. Kymberly was just so darn tooting cute in her cow costume. I just wanted to hug and kiss her over and over.
