Cheesecake rip off.

Daniel and I just went to eat at the Cheesecake Cafe for his brother, Ryan's, birthday. We enjoyed a great meal and conversation, but then when the waitress asked if we would like dessert, Daniel said no thanx before I could even say anything and the waitress left. She came back with the bill, and as we walked to the front to pay and get change, I asked "Are you sure we can't have cheesecake?". And do you know what he said to me? He said "Have a cookie dear." HAVE A COOKIE?! A little itty bitty cookie they put out for people to eat while they wait for their table?! He then walked out the door and left me there stunned in disbelief. Who, just who in their right mind, eats and the Cheesecake Cafe and then leaves with out having cheesecake for dessert? I never have and I never plan to do it again. What a rip off!

Kids and naps

How does one conquer the taking naps to not taking naps transition? Here's my dilemma. Tansley has been soooo miserable the past few days, so on Monday I decide that she needs to have a nap, and even with said nap, she is fairly cranky when she wakes up (I know she's 2, I get it). But since then I have being paying for that nap. she wakes up earlier in the morning (I'm talking 5:30am or earlier) and doesn't go back to sleep until 6:30am or later, the rest of the morning she is a monster, by 2pm she is exhausted and wants to take a nap. and the cycle starts again. This morning she was up a 3am and in my bed...not sleeping and neither was I. Finally at 5am when Kymberly woke up to be nursed, Tansley went to her own bed only to get up with Kathryn just after 6am. No need to explain that she has be grumpy most of the day. So again at 2pm she wants a nap....it's 5:45pm and she is still sleeping (she has a cold today too, that might add to it). Not only is Tansley sleeping but so is Kathryn. At 4pm Kathryn got herself all worked up about spelling words that she went into a hysteric crying fit and went to her room, and I ignored her, knowing that she was going to fall asleep but not really caring because I just wanted her to stop with the hysterics so I could enjoy some non-hysteric-yelling-grumpy time to myself. Once Kathryn is a sleep, it is BAD news to wake her up when she is not ready to wake up, so I let her sleep, and I continue to let Tansley sleep. Bad ideas I know, but sometimes one just doesn't have the energy or gumph to even care...and so it is with me today. Will I pay for it? Undoubtedly. In all likelihood they will be up untill who knows when tonight, and be up at 6am or earlier in the morning and our Friday will be another napping or napless adventure.

Chaos in Organization

Today I went out to Walmart and invested in 12 rubbermaid bins so that we could store our toys in a more organized fashion. I received my CTB cheque today, this is how I planned to buy said bins but for some reason Daniel put it in his pocket. I dropped him off at work and the preceded to Walmart, found the bins that were needed and headed to the check out. When it came time to pay I realized that I had forgot to cash the cheque and then realized that my dear darling Daniel had that cheque in his pocket and I knew that there was absolutely no money in the bank. So I kindly ask the cashier to suspend the transaction while I use the phone at customer service to call Daniel and have him transfer some money into our account via the online banking. Kymberly is screaming, Tansley refuses to come and stand with me and Kathryn insists that she has to go to the bathroom right now! Mean while I am on hold waiting for Daniel to answer the phone at work, he must be busy. Finally he picks up, and then laughs at me because I made it all the way to the check out with out realizing that I didn't have the cheque, but why did he have it in the first place? Twenty minutes and 50 cents for the candy machines later, the money finally shows up in the account. Lets get out of here! The girls were very excited with the idea of organizing the toys...until we get home and it's time to start organizing. First we went through the house and collected all the toys and then we started sorting. Kathryn is easily distracted and talks on endlessly about usually nothing, I keep trying to keep her on task, but two toys later and she's wandering again. Tansley is such a help, just as you get on bin full of toys, she takes out 5 or 6 and wonders off with them, scattering what we just collected all over the house again. It's the end of the day. The kids are asleep in bed and my living room looks worse now than it did this morning....oh well, I guess we'll tackle it again tomorrow.

Chaos is such fun

OK so now I've started a blog, I find that suddenly I have nothing to say. Life has been busy with digging, cleaning and storing my carrots, sewing a wedding dress, cresting jerseys for Bert and Mac's, running off to Winnipeg for a weekend, trying to entertain children, and of course all the regular duties in keeping house...which unfortunately I often neglect when I have so many other fun things to do. Daniel and I have also started house shopping and what an adventure that is, looking for houses in all sorts of interesting places. We thought we found the house that we wanted, but then all sorts of chaos erupted. We still love the house, location, and price. But right now we are just waiting to see if the chaos lets up before we do anything. In the mean time we keep looking and dreaming, hoping that we'll be guided some how to the house that is just right for us. It's fun and scary and frustrating and exciting all at the same time. Trust me, when we know, the rest of you will know, but until then, don't ask questions, I don't have answers.

My first blog

OK, so I've been out of the world of internet for years and years, and finally I have a computer that works and I'm hooked up to the world! There is so much to do. So much to see. So many places to go. Never enough time to do it all. Just when I think I might have a few minutes to get caught up with it all, Kathryn comes and wants to play on the computer, and asks if I'm done every 30 seconds, or Tansley starts climbing the kitchen shelves, or poops on the kitchen floor, or smears vaseline all over, or Kymberly starts to cry because she needs me to nurse her or just to bounce her. But it is now 11pm and all is quiet...for now, so I'm taking a moment to start my own blog, yes I'm blogging for the very first time. This is kinda fun.
