Hello! Hello!
Our friends are sticking! Yesterday was the first day this transfer that all of our lessons we had scheduled went through! It was so exciting! Each of those friends are at different stages in their learning.
In the mornings we had a phone lesson with a friend that knew Jesus lived in Israel and was crucified. That was it. Sister coulson shared the most beautiful testimony of the atonement and asked our friend if he believed that Jesus could save him from his sins. He said, "well if he saved you from yours, he'll save me from mine too right?" Of course he will. We meet with this friend again in a couple days.
Our next friend we met with was in contact with the sisters previously here. We planned to teach the restoration but the spirit directed otherwise and we taught the Gospel of Jesus christ. He was baptized when he was 17 because his dad told him to, but now he wants to be baptized because he chose it himself.
The next lesson brought us a referral from some other sisters. Upon sharing with him the restoration he became so excited to learn about Joseph Smith that he wouldn't let us leave out a single detail of his story and when we paused to ask a question he would quickly answer and hurry us along to we could keep telling him more of Joseph's story.
The last lesson of the day was over zoom. We had a recent convert join us to teach, who taught about prophets in the most beautiful way I have ever heard. It was incredible and perfectly tailored to the needs of our friend.
I just love teaching it fills my soul! There have been some sad things with people we have met this week too. But I think that it's so cool that we get to be in both places. We get to witness the happy successes of our friends but we also get to witness and stand by our friends during the sad times too because we are representatives of Jesus christ and he would be in both places. What a special blessing it is to minister in the savior's way.
Every morning we plan out our day. Some days they are very detailed plans with backups to lessons. But I don't think there has been a day this transfer that has gone according to plan. Something always happens. All the lessons fall through. Then the backups to the lessons don't work out. Or lessons go through but in a completely different way than we planned.
But there hasn't been a day this transfer that I have gone to bed and felt like the day wasn't according to God's plan. We found 6 new people to teach yesterday! 6! And I know it's not about the numbers. That's not what this is. The point is that even though we had zero finding time yesterday because our plans were a little bit out of wack, God's plan was in full swing and we were able to be in the right places to meet the people God needed us to. That has what every day this transfer has been like. It's the coolest craziest thing!
Let God be your plan for your day! Have faith to plan and prepare, but also have the faith to follow what God needs you to do. I love you all many bunches! Go give em Heaven!
