The serious blog

Here I am in my new fabulous house. We've been living here for just over a month and it feels like we've always lived here, except for the fact that I still have no pictures or really any variety of decoration stuff in any of my rooms, except the baby's room, it looks cute. That will come, I've been busy with a lot of sewing projects for other people that haven't been any fun, but they have made me some money. Now that I am nearly caught up on that( and would be farther along if I were doing that instead of blogging), I'm looking forward to doing some of the funstuff to get my house looking settled. We have finished painting the living room, well almost I've discovered that in the sunlight the navy blue wall needs another coat of paint, but after the sun goes down it looks fabulous. Once I get that finished, then I'll hang the pictures and such, but still it will be a furnitureless room, except the piano, book shelf, TV, and computer desk, ok so really it is simply lacking things to sit on. Next I want to paint in the girls room. I'm going to do an oversized flower garden on one wall with giant butterflies and bees and stuff. It's so cute in my head, I hope that I can make it look as cute as it is in my mind. after that I suppose I should figure out what to add to my room and of course the garage still needs to be worked on. I thought I had that tackled. I got everything out of the way and organized on shelves and such, and everything set to the sides in a nice organized manner so that we could park the van in the garage instead of just on the driveway, I was so proud of myself, really felt like I had accomplished something. Daniel comes home, and parks in the garage (because I told him too) and he thinks its to tight of fit, so he continues to park on the driveway instead of making use of the space that I slaved over for a whole day. Oh well, what can be done? I suppose I could just store all the stuff that keeps getting put in the living room because we have no idea where else to put it, in the garage. At least then I wont have to look at it.
In spite of everything, I love this house, I love our new ward, I love Milk River! I made some fabulous discoveries last Tuesday. I walked to the grocery store with the kids because it was 10% Tuesday, and there were some things that I wanted to buy. Discovery #1: The Riverside market has fabulous prices on 10% Tuesday. With this discovery I ended up with quite a few more groceries than I had expected. I came prepared, or at least I thought I had, I had brought a back pack to carry the groceries home in, but by the time we got to the check out, I was wondering how I was going to get it all home in the stroller and the backpack. I said so to Kathryn. The Check out lady over heard me and revealed the second discovery to me. "We deliver at no extra charge, would you like us to deliver your groceries to your house? It will probably take 45 minutes.". To this I responded "You deliver?! I Love Milk River!!". Sometimes it really pays to live in a small town. So now I know I can walk down to the grocery store any day any time and by whatever I want, and then It will be delivered to my door. So fabulous.
Back to what I was talking about, I love everything about living here. It feels so right. The girls love it and have really taken to everyone at church. Kathryn gave her first talk in Primary on Sunday, and she did fabulous, I was very proud of her. She even decided that she wanted her talk to be about Lehi and to use some cut outs from the Friend. Oh yes back to loving this place. It feels like home, and we are all so glad to be here. I go to bed every night thinking "I love this house.". And soon Daniel will be done Basketball and he will be home to enjoy the house as much and as often as I do. Yeah to the end of Basketball!!!!!!!!

Back on line and in touch

I was going to do some serious blogging just now, but my husband has just begged me to come sit with him and just watch some adult TV (not adult as in XXX, just not kids stuff) for a little while, and I can not turn him down, we don't get to sit and watch TV together very often...and he's making popcorn too! Blogging will have to wait for now. I'll even have pictures of our house and what we have done with it thus far.

Farewell for now

Well folks this is a temporary farewell until we get all moved, organized, setup and hooked up. We are right in the middle of this moving thing. Saturday is our big move day and will likely continue on into Monday when we hope to be done moving and just then need to worry about the cleanup of our old place. Wish us luck! We are all very excited about this craziness!!

OK, So here's our House!  I thought  I had a nice straight on view, but apparently I don't so this will  have to do for now.

The rest of these are named for what they are. This is as the house is right now. Really the only thing we are going to change is the colour of the paint in the living room and girlify the girls teal bedroom some how, maybe even baby up the baby's room...we'll see.

Blue walls and blue carpet is a little boring.

I love the kitchen colours, and I have so much cupboard space! I'll probably buy some new hardware for the cupboards, and leave them the natural wood.

I like the teal in the girls room, but somehow I need to girlify it, without making it prissy. Any ideas?
so that's pretty much it. When we get moved in I'll post pictures of our house with our stuff in it.

Santa Skeptic

Oh how my Kathryn makes me laugh! She is a thinker! This afternoon we went to Daniel's work Christmas party and after food and bowling, the children were gathered around the Christmas tree to sing Christmas carols so that Santa would come. Kathryn is already suspicious, she asks me "The real Santa mom? He lives at the North pole, how is he going to get here?" I tell her that he will come in his sleigh, she gives me her look that says she doesn't believe me. So the kids sing some carols and sure enough, HO HO HO here comes Santa shaking some jingle bells, Tansley is excited although she tells me she doesn't want to see Santa, Kathryn just looks but then does give in to a smile of anticipation when she realizes that Santa is going to hand out presents. He starts calling out names and giving each child a present and treat bag. When Tansley's name is called she is hesitant to go up, but I take her hand and lead her to Santa. She keeps her distance, just close enough to reach the present being offered her and then says thank you, to which Santa says "your welcome". Tansley's eyes light up and she says to me "Santa talks!", for some reason this had never occurred to her before and it was a pleasing revelation. Some time later Kathryn's name is called and she goes up and sits on Santa's knee and smiles for a picture and then says thank you for her present and that was that...for that moment. Later tonight, on our way to the Christmas devotional, Kathryn says to me, "Mom, I don't think that was the real Santa." I asked her why she thought that and she replied "his beard wasn't stuck to his face, he was just dressed up like Santa, and Santa lives at the North pole and there was no sleigh, and he just came while we were singing from that door." OK, she got me, she was right on all of it, what could I say? I said "your right" and then told her it was Santa's helper who came to visit the kids. Well that just opened up a whole new line of questioning. How did he know how to get here? Did Santa give him a map? Does Santa need a map? Santa's helpers are elves, why was he so big? Where does he live? Does Santa's helper have a sleigh too? and on and on and on......What kind of answers am I supposed to give her?  So I just say "I'm not sure." and "that's possible". However I know that those answers will not satisfy her for long. She figured out a solution for the "too big elf" dilemma, when the elf (Santa's helper) puts on the Santa clothes it makes him look big, and when he takes them off he gets small again. Sounds good to me. I'm pretty sure Kathryn will have this Santa thing figured out in no time, she thinks too much and usually comes up with the right answers.

New Adventures.

Life is exciting these days. For anyone that doesn't know, Daniel and I decided to make the biggest purchase of our lives. We looked and searched and prayed to know what, where, when and how make this purchase. And then one day we saw it online and we knew this was the one. It wasn't easy, in fact it was quite chaotic at first and very frustrating, for a brief moment we wondered if it was the right one. I t took about a month to finally get what we wanted. But we got it and we are thrilled. Some may say we are crazy, insane, out of our minds, but let them say it, we don't care. We admit that we are, but not for the same reasons.

Our new house is fabulous, it is gorgeous with new paint just the way I would have done it (accept in the Living Room, that will be changed). The flooring in only a few years old and looks fabulous. The basement is finished with a fabulous laundry/bathroom. I finally get to live in a house with TWO bathrooms!!! I have never had such luxury! Not only that but my kitchen has more cupboard space than I know what to do with, I'll actually be able to store everything in real cupboards!!! again I have never had such a luxury(in my married life). The yard is huge with plenty of room to make a garden space. We have an attached garage and and additional drive way in the back. The yard is lined with big beautiful trees and the house is surrounded by flower gardens. Oh yes and it is in Milk River and we take possession January 4th 2008.

Dissappearing posts...spooky

OK, So Daniel writes this brilliant post about our future PCPers and one of those brilliant PCPers found a way to delete the post by clicking and pressing various buttons. Genius, I know. So here is my very much less brilliant post.

Kathryn created her own design and then I helped her cut it out. She was so proud of it, It is even wearing glasses and sticking out it's tongue

Tansley drew her face on the pumpkin and then Daniel interpreted her beautiful drawing. Do you see the face? It's obvious how Daniel was able to bring out her creativity.

And this piece of work is my genius creation called "simple pumpkin", but hey it's cute. Unlike my husband, I need to draw the face on first and then follow the lines.

This piece of work of course belongs to Daniel. He is skilled. He says it is because the vision is in every part of his being....or something like that. He just picked up the knife and started cutting away, the second year in a row that he has been able to pull off this master piece...and likely not the last. What can I say, my husband is amazing, and when he reads my boring post, he'll shake his head.
So here is our family of pumpkins all lit up and shining for the world to see.
